First attempt at stage 3 textured foods - not a fan!

So the doctor gave us the go ahead on meats and textures at his 9 months visit last week. I went to the store and bought a few stage 3 foods to see what he thought. The first food he tried was Chicken and Mixed Veggies. It smelled really good, however, Liam is just not a big fan of the chunks and textures. I had to video it, because his expressions made Jamin and I laugh!

Conquered the walker, finally!

So Liam has been in the walker for the past few months, but has not been able to really make it go until the last few weeks. Now that he knows how, there's no stopping him when he's in it. He just runs into anything that's in his way. He gets so excited that he can move around on his own!

And he's on the move!

As of today (11/8/11) we have a crawler! It is more a mixture of crawling and scooting. But none the less, he is on the move for sure! Here's one of the many videos we took today. I'm a proud, but nervous momma!

Liam's 1st Halloween!

Jamin manned our house and handed out candy to the trick or treaters in our neighborhood and Liam, Manny, Grammy and I went to Sounthland's Trunk or Treat and handed out candy. Here are a few pics. Liam passed out before it was over. It's hard being so cute! And he was the CUTEST lil monster EVER!

Liam & Kinsley

We went to a jewelry, clothing and bag party at Courtney McPherson's house last Friday night. I brought Liam so he could play with Kinsley (Courtney's little girl). Liam was very entertained by Kinsley. Here's a video of them together.

Liam's 1st Pumpkin Patch!

We took Liam to his 1st pumpkin patch to take pictures. The pictures turned out so cute! We gave him the little pumpkin to hold and the first thing he did was put it in his mouth. Typical teether! Here are a few pics from the pumpkin patch.

We love our Rangers!

Even though they didn't win the World Series this year, we still love our Rangers and we were sporting our Rangers gear during the World Series. Here are a few pictures. Liam also had his first trip to the ballpark in Arlington!

It's about time!

Apologies for slacking off and neglecting our blog for the past few months. I just uploaded some videos of our precious angel doing some funny things. I hope you enjoy the videos!

As for The Burkes, we are doing great and just loving our life with our son. We couldn't be happier. We feel so blessed to have Liam in our lives and he just brightens our everyday. He is rolling over and rolling everywhere like a pro. He pulls up on anything he can get a grasp on. Everything goes in his mouth (he's teething again) and he is trying his best to crawl. He can go from a seated position to all fours and he does the little rocking back and fourth thing but then doesn't go anywhere. I think it will be any day now when he'll crawl, but we'll see. His personality grows just as he is and it's becoming so cute and little boy-like. He will be 8 months old on November 13th. Time has flown by and I wish I could just press pause. He is growing way too fast, but I am cherishing every single second with him. I'm so thankful to Jamin that I can stay home with our little boy. It has been the greatest gift he could give me. I love both my boys (and Jaggy too)!

We are going Trunk Or Treating tomorrow at church so I'll post picture from that soon!

Smart Boy!

Lately we have been "clucking" at Liam to get his attention, apease him, and just make noise. He now tries to "cluck" back at us and it's the cutest thing EVER! His little clucking noise is just precious. I finally caught him doing it on video!

FYI: He also squeals fairly loud about 12 seconds into the video. So don't turn your speakers up all the way!

New Fave: Lights!!!

So before leaving any room of our house Liam leans towards the light switch so he can turn them off and then back on and then back off and so on. It's his new favorite thing to do.

Loving the window

Here's a video of Liam at my mom's banging on the window. He loves to bang or drum on anything and everything.

Here we go....

Liam started pulling up a little before he was 7 months. I finally caught it on video. It's been a few weeks since I took this video and he does this all the time anywhere he can. I think we may be in trouble!

Like father like son

While I was at my Junior League meeting Daddy and Liam had some bonding time. Jamin said Liam was actually saying "Hey" a lot before he started videoing. I love this video. So priceless!

My little man likes rap?!?!

This was actually when Liam was sick with his first cold, just got his 6 month shots and was cutting his bottom 2 teeth. So needless to say it was a pretty rough week for Liam, mommy and daddy. Even though Liam felt horrible he still managed to have a happy moment with the help of Jay-Z. Not sure if he liked the song or thought it was funny sounding, but either way it made my night! Love him so much!

Pops makes Liam LOL

We were visiting Pops, Lolli, Allison and Trav in Coppell for Allison's 18th birthday and Pops made Liam LOL with Allison's party blower. It was so funny and now we have a stash of these party blowers at our house just in case Liam needs a good laugh.

Liam loves jumparoo-ing

Liam loves to sit in front of the TV in his Jumparoo and jump. Not just a little bouncing, but the boy jumps! He loves it and I love it because I can get a few things done around the house while he "exercises".

We have a roller!

We've been really working with Liam to teach him to roll from his belly to his back. He hates tummy time so it's been a challenge. Today he did really good and rolled over without any help from us! We are so proud of our little rollie pollie! Next we will probably be chasing him around the house...uh oh!

Liam's first food

So yesterday we gave Liam a little taste of some rice cereal. It was still mostly milk, but it was so funny to watch his reaction.

Liam's almost 5 months already!!

Time sure does fly! I can't believe my little baby boy is almost 5 months! He is growing so fast and I'm enjoying every second with him. I have been taking his monthly pictures to capture how he grows through his first year. Here are the pics so far.

We finally have a house!!

We finally sold our house a week after Liam was born. We purchased one in April and have been updating it since then. We finally moved in to the house on the 23rd of July and we love it! We have so much more room than our 700 square foot apartment. I can actually unpack all of Liam's stuff now. Here are a few before and after pics of the house. Jamin worked really hard on the floors and they are one of my favorite things that we did! We are still going to do some updating to the bathrooms in the future.

Liam Alan is here!!

It's been a crazy few weeks, but we are proud to announce the birth of our baby boy, Liam Alan Burke!! He was born March 13th, 2011 at 9:33pm. He weighed 6 pounds and 9.4 ounces and was 19 inches long.

He is absolutely perfect and Jamin and I are so in love with him!

The Birth Story:
I had my San Angelo baby shower on March 12th and I was almost 38 weeks pregnant. The shower was amazing and Liam got so many great gifts. After the shower we went over to Jamin's parent's house and had dinner since all of his family was in town for the shower. After dinner we went back home and watched some TV before heading to bed. I was laying on the couch and told Jamin that Liam was unusually active. He was bouncing all around in my belly, so much so that is hurt at times. Anyways, we headed to bed. About 6:00am I woke up with a strange feeling so I got up and went to the bathroom and then it happened - my water broke!!

I yelled to Jamin who was planning on sleeping in that Sunday and let him know my water broke. My mom was staying with us that night too. So we called the Labor and Delivery to see what I needed to do. They said to come right in. I already had our suitcase packed so we got dresses and headed to L&D. When we arrived they put me in a room and wanted to make sure that it was the "real thing". So they checked me and told us that we were having this baby today!! It was so exciting but so nerve-racking at the same time. We called our friends and family to let them know Liam was on his way!

After 16.5 hours of labor the doctor decided I needed an emergency c-section because Liam's heart rate was dipping after each contraction. So they prepped me for a c-section and at 9:33pm Liam was here! It was so surreal and an amazing experience for Jamin and I. We were both just speechless seeing Liam being born. The nurses and Jamin whisked him off to the nursery to take vitals while they stitched me up.

The whole experience was a blur and went by so fast. Liam had to spend 5 days in the NICU you due to a heart murmur and an apnea spell he had when he was 4 hours old. The NICU took such good care of him and we are so thankful he was in their care. Jamin and I stayed in the hospital and went to visit him all the time. We just couldn't stay away.

We were discharged on Saturday afternoon. At discharge his heart murmur was barely detectable. We have a follow up with a cardiologist in April to make sure it's completely closed up. He was almost back up to his birth weight when we were discharge.

It was so good to bring him home finally! Ashley drove to San Angelo and was such a huge help to us. She helped set-up and organize his nursery since we were not expecting him for another 2 weeks. Our families were such a tremendous help as well. Bringing us food, going to the grocery store, doing dishes, etc. We feel so thankful and loved to have such great family and friends.

We are so blessed to have this little boy in our lives. We just sit and look at him and how perfect he is and wonder what we did to deserve this miracle. He is so worth everything that goes along with pregnancy and delivery. We thank God for him and pray that he continues to stay healthy and strong.

Here are some pictures of our little angel!

Baby Liam moving around in my belly!

Here is a video I took while Baby Liam was very active last weekend. I ate 3 cinnamon rolls that morning for breakfast so that may be why he was so hyper in there.

Liam's Bedding!!

So we got Liam's crib, changing table and bedding in last week. We had fun setting it up and I think it looks adorable! I can't wait til Liam is now! The bedding is so soft and comfy. He's going to love it!

Comparison

So my mom thinks Liam looked like me in the 3-D pics. Here is a picture of my as a newborn and one of Liam's 3-D pics.

3-D sonogram!!

I've been looking forward to the 3-D sonogram since our first visit. It was our first glimpse of our little boy and I could not wait to see him! He kept putting his arm and hand in front of his face but we still were able to get some good pictures of him. I think he is adorable, but I may be a little biased :)

Coppell Baby Shower!

I had so much fun at Liam's baby shower in Coppell! He got so much cute stuff. It was so good to see all my family and friends there. Here are a few pictures from the shower.
